In conversations regarding Space we hear cool sounding terms like Cis Earth and Cis Lunar. And occasionally we also may hear CIS Mars. Anything that is orbiting near a terrestrial body is classified as CIS. The sectors contained within these spheres, may not all be ripe for settlements via space stations. However, some may be more appropriately aligned for usage as settlements.
These different sectors can also be used for conducting business or for the establishment of industries such as mining, warehousing, heavy industry, or construction. Certain sectors will become more in demand while others will diminish. Since we are dealing with a blank canvas at this point, simply any development to establish these sectors for various applications will be steps in the right direction. Those companies engaging in such defining, stand to benefit from first mover advantage. While there may not be real application or cash flows stemming from such activities in the immediate future, they will most certainly be there over time. Companies that plan in advance will have the requisite due diligence that whenever such opportunities arise they can more swiftly move to action. Being a blank canvas, space requires creativity.
